* NEW RIF Procedures

As a result of negotiations, new procedures are in place for placement of reduced employees.  Please visit the DAEOP website, www.DAEOP.com, for the language.

*STEPS - October Pay check

In your October paycheck you should have received a step if you're eligible and retro pay for the step going back to July 1, 2007.  If you have questions about this, please call Amy Grant (X39200).

*DAEOP Winter Candy Sale

PROCEEDS USED FOR SCHOLARSHIPS GIVEN TO

DPS HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

The annual DAEOP candy sale is now underway.  Every year, DAEOP awards two new college scholarships to students majoring in business.  In addition, monies earned through this fundraiser pay for ongoing scholarships for up to four years.

 

Last year's recipients were:

 

Cristina Galvan, Abraham Lincoln ÜHigh School, Regis University

 

Mia Fite, Montbello High School, Johnson & Wales University  Þ

 

We are selling a nice variety of candy that we have sold in the past, as well as a selection of mini boxes of candy. The mini boxes are ideal for small gifts for those near and dear to you 

Please return orders by Friday, November 26, to Teresa Gordon at East High School.

We anticipate delivery of the candy to be the week of December 10th.  If you need additional posters or order forms or have questions, please call Teresa at 720-423-8350.

*If you can help sort the candy on December 10th or 11th and/or to distribute the candy to schools near your site, please let Teresa know via phone or e-mail.

*January 12, 2008 - The role of NEA in supporting Educational Support Personnel

Kathy reports that 14 people attended the October 27 workshop.  It was very informative and everyone learned how to care for themselves better in the work place. They learned posture exercises and stretches to make their backs stronger while sitting and standing all day, how to get more steps in at work and eat healthier.

AR Training

In September, Jeannie Beyer from the Colorado Education Association conducted training for DAEOP Association Representatives (AR).  .  Nissa Oldefest (Fairview), Kathy McPherson (Henry), Trish Martinez (JFK), Cheryl Myres (Montbello) along with some board members attended and we had a good discussion about our Association and things that we can do to make it stronger.  We hope to utilize our ARs for information distribution, membership recruitment and many other activities.  If you are interested in being an AR for DAEOP, contact Teresa Gordon (x38350) for more info.

 

Holiday Party

Our Social Committee, headed by Cheryl Myres, is busy preparing for the DAEOP Holiday party.  Plan now to attend on DECEMBER 6, 4:30 TO 6 P.M. AT CEA BUILDING
